Duckies and Elephantys

Sometimes being sick has its perks
I took a sick day from work today
no longer wanting to be sprayed down
with Lysol by my fellow co-workers
I'm not very good at being sick
I'm whinny and fidgety
staying in bed is hardly an option
when there is so much to do
luckily I'm not quite that sick
just a nasty head cold
THAT WILL NOT GO AWAY!
ugggg

omg I just realized that all my kits have piece spelled wrong!
ack will have to change that tomorrow
~ but it will stay as is on my blog! LOL I AM A DORK!!!!

I've had so many "works in progress" on my plate
and I REALLY want to start checking things off the ol' "to do" list
So I'm very pleased that i FINALLY finished two digital kits
part of a series I'm fondly calling Animal Crackers
Karli of Retro Plant said I should call the Duckies one
Animal Quackers :)
This Ducky kit is by far my favorite of all my kits yet

From digital scrapbooking

to tradition
this kit is perfect for capturing wee little tikes adventures
in the tub or in the mud
and let's face it everything in between
I can see this kit making for really cute baby shower announcements
or transfered onto a onsie
that is what i love about digital scrapbooking
the ideas and uses are endless!

there wasn't much rhyme or reason to what animals I chose to make
more or less whatever I was in the mood for
there will be a kit of puppy dogs, pigs, horses, donkeys,
and ummmmI swear one more
but I'm having a brain fart
oh-well

One of my favorite animals is the elephant
I have a small collection
the ornament in the picture above is my favorite
it was a gift from my mom and dad
it was a significant gift because it really symbolized to me
that they really "got me"

(that's me!)

My little sister is in her second trimester of pregnancy
she just spent 5 or so days with us
and while there were some crazy emotions on my end
given how badly I want a baby
and how much she is trying to embrace pregnancy at just age 19
we had she a wonderful time together
her boyfriend ~ soon to be fiance
is great! My husband and him get along so well
I only wish they didn't live 9 hours away :(
but with all that said,
I can't wait to have baby pictures to scrapbook!
ahhhh it's going to be so fun!
but for the mean time I have PLENTY of my own to do
I think someday it will be fun to mix my baby photos
in with my own little bundles of joy
to see the comparisons.

You just have to get The Gnome Hut's Gingham Trio kit
although be warned you wont be able to make a single page without it...
lol I kept trying to make pages with ONLY my own kit elements
but I finally gave up
everything is better in gingham!

My Elephant window display goes down
at the end of this month
whatever will I do with an 9' elephant?
This always happens too me
just like my giant robot who I sadly had to break down
and throw away:(

Well after more than 10 hours of sitting at my computer today
I think it is time I send you my love
and call it a night!
HUGS!
Chelsea Ann

I love my...

I've been thinking a lot lately about my dad
well in fact all three of them
I find myself daydreaming of childhood more than ever
I assume it has a lot to do with the fact that I have started going to a councilor
and once you open the can of worms
it's hard to get those suckers back in
it's hard to let childhood go
oh I never ever want to grow up
but I do want to put the past in the past
I want to not only say but believe
that it wasn't me
and I want more than anything to just be able to let go
It is time to move on
I know it's true
I don't think I am capable of it quite yet
but I no longer need them
I only need to forgive and forget
~
I am a blessed girl
this is true
for in my life now I have a wonderful father
he came late into my life
but he came none the less
I never imagined it would happen
but I now have a father
who loves and adores me
and who I know will always be there for me!
I LOVE YOU DAD!

(my "new" Dad as a baby boy)
Animal Cracker-Ducky Digital Kit COMING SOON!

Feels good to let your thoughts out
my councilor suggests I write letters but then never send them
lol I see no point in this ( I have tried in the past)
and so I hope from time to time you wont mind me sending my thoughts here
I feel so safe here in the world of my blog
is not that strange? When anyone can read it?
oh-well

I'm really excited about my new kits I'm working on
I'm working on so many it's a bit of a joke
you might have noticed on my right sidebar
the note about animal crackers?
well I'm getting pretty close to having a few of these kits done.
Each kit will have 10 items all relating to one animal.
I'll be showing more previews soon!

Well I've got to run!
oh I'm including this video
My family is major Duck Fans
Sadly they lost but I still love this video
my brother is friends with these guys :)
OH! AND CONGRATS IDAHO VANDALS!!!! YIPPEEE!

2009 Recap

Happy New Years!
Last year was a doozy
And while I have better hopes for 2010
looking back it's hard to deny that 2009
wasn't all that bad!
Thank You for the company
as I have shared my artistic whimsies
to my emotionally confused feelings
I wish you all a wonderful year to come
may we all be blessed with good fortune
and life long friendships and love.
~Chelsea Ann

Hello Doll!

Hey Gals!
I have sure missed you all lately
I hope that 2010 is a tad less busy
I really want to get to know you all much better this new year
One fun way to get to know your fellow bloggers is to participate in swaps
I recently did an altered dolly swap with Sandy of of Sandy's Creations
I made her a sweet little ice cream doll
lol well at-least I think she is sweet
at my last craft show everyone thought they were creepy
but I have some fun plans for these doll
but that is for another day...

there is so much I don't know about the world of dolls
but sandy called this a penny doll
If you love all things sweet and pink
you should check out Sandy's etsy shop Distressrelief

Sandy sure did spoil me rotten!
Among my goodies was a petite Blythe
Miss Perfect Paisley Star
she said it was to hold me over until I was able to get my own "big" blythe

Well I must say
while her wardrobe could be a challenge
I adore my little Kaitlynne (her new name)
she is just so wonderfully sweet
and while a little camera shy she can really steal your heart

Poor Kaitlynne was sure lonely this Christmas
so she wrote a letter to Santa asking for a "big" sister
but as we know Santa can only do so much
and not having time to fly over to Japan
he dropped a winning Scratch it Ticket into my stocking
just enough to buy my first doll!

So for the last few days I have been doing quite a bit of research
on what - I mean who I wanted to purchase...
but all the girls I like are still over my price range :(
but then I stumbled upon Pullip Dolls
and it was truly love at first sight
my frustration quickly melted away
so I will be ordering my first Asian Fashion Doll
just as soon as the New Years Celebrations end in Asia
I hope I will not regret not going with a Blythe doll
but I really find the Pullip dolls
to be much better fit to my personality

So who is the lucky doll?

I am soooo excited! I can't hardly wait to start playing with her!
My piggy bank is sure in trouble!
ack! which is not good because my new years resolution is to SAVE!
lol but I told hubby I had to purchase my doll first
he rolled his eyes but said okay :)

well I'm tired and need to work on some chores around the house

I'll leave you with this beautiful song
if your into such music ~

Christmas with ittybittybirdy

Well despite their being no sunlight for photographing
my computer crashing
and endless baking, cleaning, wrapping, and what not
I am here to share with you my home as it is this Christmas
and a few extra sweet things as-well

Ah there is nothing better than inspiration from flickr and friends like you
and 4 bags later I finally have my own gumdrop wreath
only problem is that I have a whole bag left and I can't stand the taste-ick!

I thought I might hang some of my vintage Christmas records above my dinning room bench
but then I scored these amazing vintage Christmas cards
at my local flea market Sunday for just $2!
Miller seems to like them :)

this is my very favorite Christmas tree yet
it's a beautiful Blue Spruce
and the prickly needles have made eating Christmas ornaments
a whole lot less fun for poor miller

I'm sure someday we will get a fake tree
but I can't imagine it quite yet
I love going and picking one out
helping out our local community
and the smell of pine

These are a few of my favorite Christmas decorations
My first Bradley Doll was eaten by Miller
(I'm sure your sensing a pattern right?)
So everyday before I leave for work I have to move these
to the dinning room table

I've been very good not to go to the flea market for the last few months
but I just had to go this weekend to catch the last minute deals on Christmas goodies
it's a pretty strange market
mostly just tools
but one table always has me forking over my cash
and this week was no exception
most of the items I picked up I will be saving
to place in my etsy shop next holiday season
but I just had to have these vintage candles

and this adorable little snowman :)

I also picked up this beautiful felt and sequins santa

Whenever I start taking photos Miller just has to be in the shot
Charlie on the other hand hates cameras

We will be taking the vitrolas back to Jim's dad this week
it seems my husbands family would rather it be left to rot in a basement
than have it be a center piece of our home
it makes me really sad and mad
but hopefully someday we can get another one! :(

I made a few ornaments for my fluffy white tree using the mushroom form my Merry Kitschmas digital kit and the cotton candy from my Circus Party kit.

I really adore the way they turned out but I'm going to have to figure out
how to make the paper stick to the plastic pendent
without bubbling or blurring

This is my first Christmas in my whole life
that I will not be spending with my mom and dad
so last night they came over for dinner and to exchange presents
My vegetable barley soup was a success
and yours truly was spoiled rotten!
I got some Christmas village pieces, pjs, an amazing coat from Anthropologie
and a CRICUT!
Quite honestly I have no real clue what it does
but I know it's really cool and cuts paper
I guess my dad has been watching infomercials on it for years
who knew?
So I'm excited to find out what I can do with it :)
If anyone has one I am eager for tips!

I am just crazy about my Christmas outfit this year
I pulled the whole look together rather quickly
as I was cooking all day and had no time to properly put myself together
before the folks showed up

The skirt was an awfully big purchase for me
I'm more of a penny thrifter gal
but it was love at first sight
at the Crafty Wonderland Holiday Sale
It's so amazing how many talented people are from Portland!
The Skirt was made by Loni Gaghan
I also ran into the owner of Knittn' kitten right after making the purchase
and she said the fabric came from her shop
small world!

Thank god for safety pins because the skirt is too big! CRY!
I was just sure it was going to fit but well at least I have room to grow! :)

You must must must check out Loni's shop!

I wish I could be her model!
I just ADORE clothing that makes your heart smile when you put it on :)

I wanted to remind you that my Merry Kitschmas digital kit is on SALE!

My sweet friend Karli used my Christmas kit and Rosette kit to make these oober adorable pages of her beautiful girls all dolled up for the holidays

I'm always so inspired by Karli's layouts

and her use of color!
I'm am just crazy mad in love with how she ampted up the colors
of my very traditional colored kit!

Check out Karli's blog - Retro Plant - to see more of her pages, vintage treasures, darling daughters, and digital kits too!

My very good friend Stina shared her handmade cards
and Christmas Tree ornaments she made using my kit.
She has a step by step on how to make the ornaments on her blog
(just change the language to English)

It's such a wonderful blessing to have so many wonderful friends
come into my life each year through my blog
I am truly blessed!

I wish you ALL a very very Merry Christmas,
a Happy New Year
and a prosperous and especially wonderful year to come!

Love~ Chelsea Ann
