Dresses and Glasses

Oh how adorable was I?
This is proof that I was once a rolly polly little thing...
with crossed eyes!
Yupp, I came into this world this way, it's a little odd family genetic bug.
Seems to follow the girls in my family. My mother was born this way, as was I and someday my own little girl may be blessed with this silly little eye disorder.
At age three I had corrective surgery and luckily with the advances in medicine I was lucky enough to only have one surgery where as I believe my mother has had over 5.
I still have a lazy eye... and I have NO depth perception...
along with some other silly vision issues.

But I wouldn't change my silly eyes for anything in the world.
It's a big part of who I am.

I've always been the scrawny little girl wearing glasses and dresses

Not much has changed...

I still wear my glasses and dresses. Always sporting my own unique look.

With Project Dress Up I have been even more adventurous with my wardrobe.
Who says you can't wear a Prom Dress on an ordinary day.
It's not about dressing for a special occasion...
it's about dressing for the type of day you want to have.
A glittery, scratchy dress is like magic
it brings about such silly unpredictable moments.
Like when you walk into a thrift shop and a little girl screams at the top of her lungs
"Look mommy, it's a glamour star!"

Too FUN!

You have been gorgeous all your life! I'm so jealous of your pretty dresses! I am working on converting a canary yellow dress into a fanciful glittery affair for my sister to wear to a festival parade! I cant wait till its finished!

That was the cutest post!!! You were such a doll and still are. You looked just like Drew Barrymore in the picture with the red plaid jumper. So sweet!

I love your courage of being yourself and proud of it. You are beautiful and special, there's nothing to be hidden of a girl like you.
I wish I know you as a teenager, I regret my decision and thinking at that time.

You are so pretty!
