The First Chapter

In a manner of 10 days
my little world was turned upside down
from life in the "big" city of Portland, Oregon to life on 30 acres
we moved from Portland to 45 minutes outside of Boise, Idaho

These pictures were taken Easter Day
on our own property that we are currently renting
it's so beautiful out here
and just as I remember Idaho as a child
rain, or snow the sun always comes out and shows it's happy face
and my depression has not been an issue in the least
perhaps its simply because of all the excitement
but I really HATED the rain!

My hubby and I agree that we never belonged in the city
living out here has its cons
such as the commute, slow internet,
and missing my friends and my mom and dad
but there is such a peace in my heart
and with my husband so often on the road
I feel so much safer out here
watching birds and critters from my window
and all the sounds and smells of country life
the earth changing with the seasons
and small town friendly folks.
all these things make me feel so much more alive
than I ever felt living in the city
I'm not a poetic person
I don't have the words to express myself fully
but I do believe that we all have a place
somewhere we all belong
and for many of us we don't get the chance to call those places our home
I feel so blessed that we were able to make this move
I think it will be a place that both myself and my husband
will be very happy here :)

Jim and I have not had a picture taken together in quiet a long time
I have to thank my dad for giving me a tripod for my camera :)

but then suddenly my camera - my new camera
stopped working!!!!!
so I can no longer share what i've been up to
but no worries...
hubby has taken the camera into the camera gods/doctor
anywho...

I forgot to mention how much the puppies are loving the move
and who can blame them
life in the rainy city with not much of a yard, no grass, and lazy me
oh and I have a white picket fence!
I know this place is my own personal piece of heaven :)

Marianne is loving it here to
and she had an extra special first Easter
she got a sweet little bunny
who she named Flopsy
and a new easter dress

it was a rather perfect day!!!

What a lovely view! Congratulations on the move, the two of you look so happy. I also much prefer the rural life to the hustle and bustle of the city.

Take care! xo

your white picket fence is absolutely beautiful with its scallops & pretty finials! the rolling hills are pristine... the third photo of you looks like a movie still; the pale pinks of the umbrella and dress contrasted with the green fields creates such a dream-like effect. you embrace change in a admirable way... i look forward to hearing more about your life in idaho.

I have been reading your blog for awhile, but have never commented. I enjoy it a lot! I'm so glad to hear you are happy in Idaho! I currently live in Moscow, ID in a little log cabin and am very happy here away from the hustle and bustle of city life and being surrounded by nature. Congrats to you and your hubby on the move! <3

Living in the country is wonderful! Your creative spirit will find endless sources of inspiration. We just got baby chicks, duck, turkeys, and geese and I have become so inspired to photograph them...it's so fun! And I have to tell you that YOU have inspired me.I was always thin. I could wear anything I wanted. But since having two kids in two years, I've been carrying around about 35 extra pounds. I adore vintage clothes and scoop them up whenever I find them. But now they never fit me. I have all these gorgeous dresses I want to wear but can't. But seeing you looking so chic and trim in your frocks has me motivated to get off my butt and excercise and get my body back! I am built a lot like you; tall and trim (USED to be!) So thank you for reminding me how great a beautiful dress can make you feel. I hope that doesn't seem shallow!
Can't wait to see the ways country life inspires you!

Oh, Chelsea, I'm so happy for you! I hope that Idaho treats you wonderfully, since you'll certainly be missed around here. Portland just got a little less pink. :(

I look forward to seeing more lovely photos like these in the future, though, and I can't wait to see what inspiration the country provides for you.

Sorry I've been so out of touch these days, but I've been going through big changes, too, but drop me a line any time!

I commented on this post earlier and I said that I felt I needed a similar change. Well, you're not even gonna believe this but - IT'S HAPPENING. My husband is beginning school in May and we're moving to a TINY town in Iowa for him to begin!!! I am sooo excited! We leave in 3 weeks!!
