Keepsake Cakes

I am finally staring to reveal the new items I have been working on for the much anticipated Lollishops. I have been working diligently in my basement to create new cakes as well as well as some other items I am very excited about but will reveal in the weeks to come!

I purchased an industrial clamp light to that I could get better pictures of the cakes. They can be a little tricky to photograph. They tend to turn into a fuzzy glowing form and I loose all the detail and color. I also took pictures of the cakes open this time to show how they work at jewelry boxes. I am very happy with ow this little photo-shoot turned out!

I started to collect vintage figures for my cakes but sadly some of them were just too large.
So I came up with the one layer cake to really showcase these sweet vintage cuties.

This cake called Bunny Foo Foo is my favorite!

But don't fret, I'm still making the original two tiered boxes.

I will have two shops at Lollishops!

Keepsake Cakes
Were you will find all of my original work based  on the concept of confectionary sweets

ittybittybirdy
Were you will find hand picked vintage baby and children's items.

I will show you some of the items you will find in my ittybittybirdy shop a little bit later!

My sweet Chelsea Ann, It is very telling that you love the movie The Mirror Has Two Faces. What you must know is that the stories I tell are only with the gift of age (and I'm not that old!)I had a terrible relationship with my mother because she didn't give me what I thought I needed. What I know now, is that I was a very needy child. It is only within the past few years that I realize that I am the only one responsible for my happiness, and I deliberatly choose to be happy and look back on my relationship with my mother with adult eyes. She was an amazing person, I just didn't know that as a child or teenager. Wait until you read tomorrow's post, it's the followup to the dream, and my very favorite story! We are so very alike Chelsea, there is a reason we love these objects from childhood. We are nurturing ourselves through them.

i think the one layer keepsake cakes are some of the cutest you've made so far. i really love that sweet puppy with the pink bow in her hair! and the gray bunny is terribly cute! i like the arrangement of flowers around the figurines as well...

i know the pains of getting a photograph just right. i unplug and move lamps, light candles, and do all that tedious work just to get a decent photograph. in fact, the photo i'm about to post, i nearly burned down my mantel because i thought a tall candle was necessary! now there is a black melty paint bubble on the underside of of the top shelf. oops! but i guess it was worth it if the photo turned out cute, right? but then i got all disappointed when i uploaded the photo and saw my messy desk in the reflection of the mirror! anyway, your photos look beautiful and represent your lovely keepsake cakes very well!

I love your little figurines on these cakes! They are so sweet! I have had a terrifically hard time photographing things lately... I think the winter light is here and it's dark! I appreciate what "creative breathing" said. I think I'm a lot like that... I've always found comfort in things that remind me of my childhood...the good things... and I still have my dolls and animals. I thought they were alive!!!
